BERNIE JANUARY JR.
CO-FOUNDER & CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Bernie January is co-founder of Heartsleeve. He is lead designer, brand consultant, and crazy ideas advocate for all things Heartsleeve. Born and raised in South Louisiana, Bernie has been formally trained in multiple artistic mediums, starting at the age of four. He's a former Chemistry and Physics teacher, Teach for America alumnus, and previous Program Manager of Green Light New Orleans, a New Orleans-based environmental non-profit. Bernie is also the Art Director and Instructor at YEP Design Works, a work and learn program preparing local, creative youth to become creative professionals at the Youth Empowerment Project (YEP). He is a 2017 PRSA Fleurish award winner for the rebranding of YEP. View portfolio.
CO-FOUNDER & CAUSE DIRECTOR
Natasha Noordhoff is co-founder of Heartsleeve, and she is Heartsleeve's lead screen-printer and co-designer. She is also Heartsleeve's managing partner in the collaborative, women-owned retail store: The Good Shop. A graduate of Tulane University, Natasha was the Development Director for Gulf Restoration Network, an advocacy non-profit working to organize Gulf residents and protect coastline communities. She was a member of the local Gulf South Rising initiative, a regional movement highlighting the impact of the global climate crisis on Gulf South communities. Natasha puts the heart in Heartsleeve by developing relationships with new and existing Cause Partners to collaborate in meaningful ways that support their work to put Louisiana communities first.
